Spotted Lantern Fly Study
How it started:
In December 2024, six dog and handler teams from Southern Maine were tapped to take place in a ground breaking study.
We were tasked with answering the question, “Could pet dogs trained by pet dog trainers learn to find the dreaded spotted lantern fly (SLF)?”
Melissa McCue-McGrath is presenting on what these pet dogs can do to help save our environment!
She has a prepared presentation she is giving to libraries, nature preserve members, wildlife centers, schools and more, in the hopes of spreading the word of what these dogs, and your dogs at home, are capable of on their nightly walks in the woods.
